3. Data Collection When You Visit My Website

3.1 When using our website for information only, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect data that your browser automatically transmits to our server (so-called "server log files"). When you visit our website, the following data is technically necessary for us to display the website to you and is processed by our hosting and infrastructure providers (see Section 4):

Data processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in ensuring the stability, security and functionality of our website. The data will not be passed on or used in any other way. However, we reserve the right to check the server log files subsequently, if there are any concrete indications of illegal use.

3.2 This website uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of content. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the character string https:// and the lock symbol in your browser line.

4. Hosting, Content Delivery Network & DNS

4.1 GitHub Pages (Hosting)

We use the system of the following provider to host our website and display the page content: GitHub Inc., 88 Colin P Kelly Jr Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. GitHub processes technical server log files (such as IP address, browser type, date and time) in order to operate and secure the hosting service. These logs are automatically deleted according to GitHub's retention policies. Processing is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR.

4.2 Fastly (Content Delivery Network)

In connection with GitHub Pages, content on this website is also delivered via the content delivery network of the following provider: Fastly Inc., 475 Brannan St. #300, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. This service enables faster delivery of page content via a network of regionally distributed servers. The processing is carried out to protect our legitimate interest in improving the stability, security and functionality of our website pursuant to Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR.

4.3 Cloudflare (Domain & DNS)

The domain laraminkus.com is managed via Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. To the best of my knowledge, Cloudflare processes minimal technical data (such as IP addresses) for the purposes of DNS resolution, as well as for security and performance of the domain. This data is used solely for technical infrastructure purposes and not for advertising or tracking. Processing is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR.

4.4 For all providers named in this Section 4, we have, where applicable, concluded a data processing agreement ensuring the protection of our site visitors' data and prohibiting unauthorised disclosure to third parties. To the best of my knowledge, where data is transferred to the USA, the respective provider participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which ensures compliance with the European level of data protection on the basis of an adequacy decision by the European Commission.

5. External Links

This website may contain links to external sites. I am not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites.

6. Your Rights

6.1 The applicable data protection law grants you the following comprehensive rights of data subjects (rights of information and intervention) vis-à-vis the data controller with regard to the processing of your personal data:

6.2 Right to object

If, within the framework of a consideration of interests, we process your personal data on the basis of our predominant legitimate interest, you have the right at any time to object to this processing with effect for the future on the grounds that arise from your particular situation. If you exercise your right to object, we will stop processing the data concerned, unless we can prove compelling reasons worthy of protection for processing which outweigh your interests, fundamental rights and freedoms, or if the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

You may exercise these rights at any time by contacting me at the e-mail address given in Section 1.

7. Duration of Storage of Personal Data

The duration of the storage of personal data is based on the respective legal basis, the purpose of processing and – if relevant – on the respective legal retention period. When processing personal data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR, this data is stored until the data subject exercises his or her right of objection in accordance with Art. 21 (1) GDPR, unless we can provide compelling grounds for processing worthy of protection which outweigh the interests, rights and freedoms of the data subject, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims. Server log files held by our hosting and infrastructure providers are deleted automatically according to the respective provider's retention policy (see Section 4).
